Alexandra “Alex” Szajowski (suh-jow-ski)
Fitness has & always will be a huge part of Alexandra’s daily routine, career, & lifestyle. Growing up in Park Ridge, IL, she was given opportunities to try to succeed at every sport including soccer, softball, volleyball, swimming, track, gymnastics, dance (ballet pointe, tap, jazz, & modern), skiing/snowboarding, etc. She has played just about every sport competitively, minus basketball; unless you consider the occasional Knockout or H-O-R-S-E game as competition. Growing up healthy came easy as almost every day was spent outside climbing trees & running through sprinklers.
This fitness foundation set Alex up to pursue her undergrad at Illinois State University, only to graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science, & a Family & Consumer Sciences – Food, Nutrition, & Dietetics minor in May 2014. She spent extracurricular time as the President of Health Promotion & Wellness’ Student Wellness Ambassador Team, working for Recreation Aquatics, and participating in her sorority’s events. Prior to graduation, she spent 2 weeks abroad studying Physiotherapy & Kinesiology at the University of Opole, in Opole, Poland (FUN FACT: this is where Alexandra FIRST tried the sport of “CrossFit”); as well as Interning at USAA – Fitness & Recreation in Phoenix, Arizona for her final Semester. Most currently, she is studying for her American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) Certification exam.
Alex’s true love is helping the average person achieve greatness; whether that is through weight-loss or preventative health maintenance. She has worked primarily in the Corporate Wellness field for the majority of her short career; as well as a Level 1 Personal Trainer at Fitness Formula Clubs – Union Station. Although she will miss her 8 years of Lifeguarding through the Park Ridge Park District, she still remains true to her Pisces-self by teaching swim lessons from infants to adults at the local Park Ridge pools.
